Josh Brolin is a very proud father!
On Sunday, the Dune actor, 55, took to Instagram to share a series of cute photographs from his daughter Westlyn Rain’s first dance performance. Westlyn, 4, is shown wearing a purple, sparkling leotard with fringe and black patent leather shoes. “So proud of my little girl on her first dance recital,” he captioned one photo.
The actor and his wife, Kathryn Boyd Brolin, have two children, Westlyn and Chapel Grace.
Brolin also posted a picture of Westlyn and her daughter Chapel with both of their grandfathers. James Brolin, 82, carries Chapel, while Britt Boyd, Kathryn’s father, carries Westlyn. “Grandpa(s) love,” Brolin wrote with the picture.
Despite the fact that Brolin and his wife Kathryn are typically quiet about their children, the couple made a hilarious effort at a family portrait on Instagram in December.
“Power naps and power poses,” Kathryn captioned the photo, which looked to be from the couple’s sixth wedding anniversary vacation in September.
Brolin and Kathryn married in September 2016. From his previous marriage to actress Alice Adair, he has two adult kids: daughter Eden, 29, and son Trevor, 34.
The wedding also prompted Brolin to ponder the experience of witnessing his elder children establish their own lives while still rearing his own children.
He is extremely thankful for this time and place to be able to have this time, he added. He has little kids to raise again, entire lives to monitor and be sensitive to.
Brolin also said how essential it was for him to be an engaged dad in Eden’s life and to be able to spend such an important day by her side.
He didn’t get old and retire to Italy. He stayed and walked his daughter through the grassy countryside to a commitment — a groom with tears streaming down his cheeks — and he melted with it, into it, he wrote.
