Kathie Lee Gifford has paid homage to her longtime partner Regis Philbin.
Kathie Lee honored Regis on what would have been his 91st birthday on Thursday, thanking him and expressing words of love for his widow, Joy Philbin.
“I miss Regis every day,” she tweeted, captioning a photo of the two from 1988. She further added that however, today is a very tough day as they commemorate this incredible guy, who would have been 91. Her heartfelt condolences to Joy and the rest of their family as they honor this wonderful man and life.
I miss Regis every day. But this is a particularly difficult day as we remember this amazing man who would have been 91….

Regis, who held the Guinness World Record for the most hours spent on American television, died in 2020 at the age of 88. In 1985, he and Kathie Lee co-hosted a New York morning program, which later became nationally syndicated under the moniker “Live With Regis and Kathie Lee.” Until 2000, the two co-hosted the show.
There are no words to completely explain her feelings for herbdear buddy, Regis. She just adored him, and every day with him was a treasure, Kathie Lee posted on Instagram following the death of her good friend. They spent 15 years together bantering, fighting, and laughing themselves silly — a tradition and relationship that they continue to maintain to this day.
She also remembered Regis on his first birthday after his death.
The former TODAY with Kathie Lee & Hoda co-host will also attend the Daytime Emmy Awards in 2021 to mourn the death of the television star.
It was her greatest joy, happiness, honor, and privilege to sit next to somebody one would recall for 15 years, she remarked.
Of course one does. His name was Regis Philbin, and he was unique. He was one of a kind, one-of-a-kind, original, and the greatest fun one could possibly have with a human being. And she got to sit next to him and compete in verbal ping pong.
She continued asking, don’t you all miss Regis? Because all he wanted to do was make others laugh, smile, believe in themselves, and dream great goals like he did since they can come true. She knows you all miss him — she certainly does, and she’ll never be the same.
