A Georgia youngster went missing four months ago, with no promising clues as to her location since.
The now-17-year-old was 16 when her parents suspect she fled her Carrollton home on June 14 by jumping out of her second-story bedroom window, leaving behind her computer and phone, which had been confiscated after her parents said they discovered she had been communicating with strangers online.
Heartbreaking that they are FOUR MONTHS later and Kaylee Jones is still missing, stated the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, which has led the hunt for Jones since June, in a Facebook post on Friday.
Police have gotten “many” tips in recent months, however none have been validated, according to the sheriff’s office.
The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office has been devoted to finding Kaylee since day one, and they have a group of dedicated Investigators working this case, diligently following every lead and working in conjunction with many law enforcement agencies throughout the state and country, the Facebook post continued.
Authorities want anybody who sees Jones to phone 911 right away. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office is also requesting anybody with information on the 17-year-old’s whereabouts to come forward, no matter how little.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the FBI, the Secret Service, the United States Marshals Service, and local law enforcement are now aiding in the hunt for the missing 17-year-old girl, who has special needs and has been without her prescription medicine for two months.
Jones’ parents previously said that they seized her phone two days before her disappearance in an attempt to discipline her, at which point the 16-year-old turned to her laptop and started interacting with strangers on chat rooms like Omegle — a website that permits users to anonymously send direct messages or video-chat with one another.
Jones, according to her parents, provided sensitive information, like her family’s address, with some “men” she was talking to online.
Jones is 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighs 135 pounds, and has brown hair and brown eyes. Her mom thinks she has a blue book bag “with a horse on the front.” As per officials, she may be wearing black tennis shoes or converse sneakers. Her family just relocated to Georgia from Brooksville, Florida, where they still maintain contact with family and friends. She may also go by her given name, Jillian.
Authorities are requesting anybody with information regarding Jones to contact Carroll County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Courtney Short at 770-830-5916 or [email protected]. Anonymous tips can also be left at 770-830-5942.
