Los Angeles County deputies have apprehended a guy suspected of stabbing to death a dad and his daughter in a Kohl’s parking lot in broad daylight.
According to police and media accounts, the victims, Ken Evans, 54, and his 22-year-old daughter McKenna, were murdered Thursday at a shopping mall in Palmdale, California.
No matter what expression she was making, McKenna never took a terrible photo, the woman’s mother, Elizabeth Evans, told. She was just overjoyed, and she loved both people and animals.”
Evans’ husband Ken was also characterized as a “doting father” who liked devoting as much time as he could with his kid.
According to a statement from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, they were summoned to the location about 11:52 a.m. on Oct. 27 about an attack with a dangerous weapon complaint.
Investigators discovered that all people involved were parked in the location’s parking lot and seemed to live in their automobiles. The suspect had requested the male adult victim for help with his vehicle, which sparked an altercation, according to the department. The dispute escalated into a physical confrontation, and both victims were stabbed.
Officers who arrived to the site apprehended an adult male, albeit no murder weapon was found.
According to officials, the suspect may have been a vagrant, however the Sheriff’s Department could not corroborate that information.
The suspect’s name has not been made public, and Ken Evans died after being transferred to a local hospital.
In the days leading up to the stabbing, McKenna Evans wrote on Facebook, hey guys, a number of events are going on right now, things that are making him nervous and terrified, and he could really need some prayers, adding, his family still needs to locate a house however their case worker hasn’t been much help.
