Kind Cashier Allows Autistic Woman To Scan Her Own Groceries.

Cashier in Azle, Texas, named Nicole, asked 20-year-old Lexi if she wanted to help her do some scanning. Lexi has Down’s syndrome and autism.

With a little encouragement from her family, the young woman walked around to where Nicole was and started helping her scan the family’s groceries. Lexi even helped Nicole weigh some of the loose fruits and vegetables.

When they were finished, Nicole gave Lexi a high-five.

Lexi’s mom said Nicole was, quote, “an absolute sweetheart…. Without me explaining anything to Nicole, she exhibited a level of natural acceptance and understanding that I rarely witness. I just stood in awe of her.”
