Rory McCarty, a TikTok user, was shopping at his local Walmart when he observed an 82-year-old employee called Butch. In his first encounter with Butch, he asks the veteran if he is aware of a trend in which a young person is utilizing their TikTok popularity to assist senior Walmart employees in retiring.
He describes how she aided an elderly Walmart employee and raised $100,000 for her, as well as another 82-year-old Walmart employee, in four days.
The Navy veteran, who has served his nation for ten years, looks astonished and replies, “Well, I’ll be damned.”

But it turns out that Butch doesn’t have to envision anything! The McCartys agreed to gather funds for the elderly employee since he deserved it. He was able to raise around $50,000 in less than 24 hours. So far, the fundraiser has raised more than $100,000!

He continued that as a company owner, he understands how difficult it has been to obtain excellent support for his firm. He was surprised to find this small elderly man still grinding. Working shifts of eight to nine hours. He recently saw a GoFundMe for an 82-year-old woman working at Walmart on TikTok, and they earned enough money for her to retire for good.
He wished to assist this Navy Veteran spend the rest of his life going to see his kids in Florida, McCarty wrote. Remove him off his feet for eight hours at a time. And do the things he wants to do but may not be able to accomplish due to budgetary constraints.
Every amount will be donated to Butch. He will personally deliver a cashier’s check to Warren Marion (Butch) for the full amount contributed once the GoFundMe charge is deducted, he promised.
People in TikTok’s comment section were all quickly persuaded to assist. They really requested McCarty to put up a GoFundMe campaign to assist Butch. He deserved to retire, everyone agreed!
McCarty even videotaped Butch’s response to the fundraising later on. He hugs McCarty and thanks him and everyone else who is assisting. “How did I get so lucky?” the 82-year-old wonders aloud.
When questioned what he would do with the money, he replied, he’d see his kids, do some work, and enjoy the final 10 or 12 years he’ve got.
