Rachel and Levi Devine lived every parent’s most awful nightmare as their cheerful 6-year-old, Kinnady Devine, was suddenly fighting for her life.
A viral online video of Kinnady is tough to watch but at the same time, it is so influential. While in the hospital fighting a fatal disease, the sick little girl goes to Heaven but she comes back admiring Jesus and later makes a complete recovery.
By some means, the little Kinnady contracted bacterial meningitis, a contagion instigating inflammation of the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord. This is a grave disease that can be fatal in just a matter of days. It necessitates instant antibiotic treatment otherwise severe side effects like brain damage or even death is possible.
Rachel and Levi sat in the hospice with their very sick little girl, most likely be terrified of the worst. In the meantime, a call to friends and family went up on Facebook asking everybody to pray and help out in any way they could.
In order to absolutely identify bacterial meningitis and recognize which strain of bacteria is to blame, doctors wanted to collect cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). Next, they would give her antibiotics in an effort to beat the infection.
Kinnady lay in her hospital bed enclosed by her caring mother, father and Grandma. Rachel couldn’t resist recording little Kinnady after the painful and terrifying process. The sweet Kinnady can’t stop admiring her family and show gratitude to her nurses for their carefulness.
At times, tiredness from the powerful treatment gets the best of Kinnady and the little girl fall asleep. This happens as she puts her hands together and starts praying. And it’s in that instant the girl goes to Heaven.
Though Kinnady is only out for a split-second from what we can see, she returns and happily shouts, “I’m here?!”
The girl’s surprise and pleasure at opening her eyes to find herself in the same hospital bed enclosed by her loved ones is entirely genuine. It’s almost as if she’s just returned from a extensive journey. In between thanking her family and telling them how much she loves them, Kinnady talks about how she’s going to get better and how she prayed about going home.
Kinnady’s mothers later clarified that when the little girl would fall asleep, she must think she pass away and went to Heaven. And when she’d wake back up, little Kinnady would start praying again. Rachel later explained to the doctor how Kinnady is waking up saying she went to Heaven and praying.
Kinnady shouts that it is good to say prayers and she said “I love God and I love Jesus… and live with Him!” A bit later, the sweet girl grasps her mother’s hand and asks her family to join her in prayer. And soon after, she enthusiastically announces, “I’m better!”
What’s amazing is that little Kinnady was right. Only a few days after the family’s friend, Sarah Ford, posted a Facebook appeal for support, she posted another update proclaiming Kinnady had been extraordinarily cured.
Sarah wrote that it is only by the Grace of God and prayer miracles that she walked out of that hospital as if nothing had happened, perfectly fine and nothing wrong with her. Sarah added that if someone don’t have faith in miracles, prayer or even God, they should hear Kinnady story.
Certainly, Kinnady’s trust and heavenly healing not only motivated her family but complete strangers, too.
One Facebook user responded that “I don’t know this family personally but I saw the video and it has touched my life in so many ways!! I have been down lately and question my faith and this little girl and her story has truly changed my heart and restored my faith!! Thank you for sharing this incredible miracle with me.”
There’s no doubt a miracle took place with this little girl. We’re so pleased she’s all better and happy to see her love of Jesus encouraging others!
