Man eats Big Macs almost every day for 50 years

Donald Gorske of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, was acknowledged this week by Guinness World Records for eating at least one Big Mac — and sometimes two – practically every day for the previous 50 years.

Gorske told Guinness that when he enjoys something, he always sticks with it. According to Guinness, Gorske enjoyed his first Big Mac in 1972 at his local McDonald’s in Fond du Lac.

Gorske told Guinness that he stated to himself at the time, he is probably going to eat them for the rest of his life.

As per Guinness, Gorske has only skipped eight days of eating a Big Mac every day since that day in 1972.

Gorske commemorated the 50th anniversary of his first Big Mac last Tuesday at the same McDonald’s where he originally had the sandwich.

The restaurant, which has a photo of Gorske on the wall, changed its sign to say, “Congrats Don on 50 Years of Macs.”

Gorske was acknowledged by Guinness as the individual who has consumed the most Big Mac burgers in a lifetime in August 2021. Gorske had consumed 32,340 Big Macs at the time.

According to Guinness, Gorske cracked his own record, which was originally acknowledged in 1999. He had consumed 15,490 Big Macs at the time.

Gorske has tried different burgers, but none have matched his favorite.

Gorske told Guinness that in 1984, he had one Burger King Whopper and one Topper double burger. He never had the urge to explore any of the other burger franchises.

Gorske expressed that he is guaranteed to eat Big Macs every day for forever.
