While driving through his neighbourhood under dangerously low temperatures, Tony Taylor came upon a kid wearing only a onesie and holding a laptop.
On February 17, she was discovered walking the streets of Englewood, Chicago, trudging through more than a foot of snow.
Tony stated that he was driving with his 5-year-old daughter, who pointed out the youngster to him: “Daddy, look at the little girl,” his daughter exclaimed.
He came to a complete halt and went over to the wailing girl.
She was simply wearing a onesie, her feet were really chilly, and she was holding a laptop, Tony told reporters. He pulled off his coat, lifted her up, and dialled 911.
Tony then went live on Facebook to try to find her family, asking, “Anybody know this young child right here?”
Officers came shortly after and brought the girl to the hospital. She informed cops she had left home on her own.
Tony stated that she told him she doesn’t want to go home to her mommy and daddy.
It brought tears to his eyes as he put her in the car, he added. All she did was look at him and say, ‘Mr. Sir, I love you.’ And he told her, ‘I love you, too.’
Tony has been praised as a hero for his acts, with 16th Ward Alderman Stephanie Coleman stating that individuals don’t comprehend how cold it is.
They want to thank him, praise him, and celebrate him for being an angel and a hero not only in Englewood. He saved the life of a baby, she said to Tony.
The tiny kid is said to have walked a mile on her own, without shoes.
No one noticed her walking? He is not sure he understands, Tony remarked. It’s not like she was outside for five minutes when he grabbed her foot. Her feet looked like icicles. She was sobbing and sobbing and sobbing.
According to authorities, the girl’s parents have been discovered, and she has been temporarily put with extended relatives while an examination is conducted.
This man is deserving of every accolade. I shudder to imagine what may have occurred if this kid had been outside in such frigid weather any longer.
