Man, Who Stepped Out To Get Milk, Calls His Wife One Last Time After Being Shot, Asks Her To “Take Care Of The Kids”

Life is a roller coaster. We never know when things will take a turn for the worse. If we did, we would all make an extra effort to hug and hold our loved ones near.

When Jorge Hernandez went to the dollar shop to purchase some milk for his infant, he had no idea it would be the final time he would see his beloved family. When a guy began shooting in the business, the dad of five was inside. Hernandez was killed, and another woman in her fifties was injured. Hernandez called his wife in the closing minutes of his life.

His wife of ten years, Marlene Jimenez, was at work when she received the tragic call from her hubby. He says he needs her to go for the children as he got shot, Jimenez stated. His final words to her were that she had made him the happiest man for ten years, that he wanted her to look after his kids for him and that he loved her so much. Jimenez was taken aback by the phone call. Hernandez gathered the courage in his final moments to speak to his wife one more time. He was rushed to the hospital and declared dead. Hernandez’s hip had been pierced by a gunshot.

Hernandez was hailed as an incredible person by his wife, who said, he loved his children so much, so it just hurts her that her children are going to be here without their dad. The event happened just before Christmas. The day after he was shot, Hernandez was going to take his children Christmas shopping. Jimenez addressed the public with an impassioned plea, saying, if anybody can assist them in locating the individual who caused this devastation, she would really appreciate it since it was not her husband’s time to go. He still had a lot of life ahead of him. Surveillance footage of the culprit driving away in a vehicle provided cops with information.

Deon D. Finnley, 22, was arrested in connection with the shooting by the Phoenix Police Department. On Tuesday, he was arrested on suspicion of murder and put into the Fourth Avenue Jail. According to the court records, a guy was accused of shooting at him from the passenger seat of a car as it drove away from the establishment. Finnley had even made a purchase from the store before the incident. This assisted in identifying him as the culprit by connecting witness testimony and electronic transaction data. Finnley was apprehended in Goodyear along Roosevelt Street and Estrella Parkway.

Finnley stated in his statement that, despite his visit to the business, the pistol was discharged by someone else. During their interviews with cops, the other occupants in the automobile, though, admitted that Finnley was the gunman.
