Mariska Hargitay Turns 59: She And Spouse Raise 3 Kids After Prayer To Adopt And Son ‘Fell Out Of the Sky’

Mariska Hargitay, the actress who plays detective Olivia Benson on “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” is 59 today. The “All-American Girl” star has stated that she enjoys spending time with her husband and three kids, so she’s most likely making the most of her birthday by spending it with her loved ones.

Mariska has two sons, August and Andrew Hermann, and a daughter, Amaya Hermann. She enjoys parenting her kids with her husband, Peter Hermann. Mariska’s main gripe is that there isn’t enough time in the day to work, assist with her charity, and be a mother to her children.

Mariska spoke about how her house is her “happy spot.” Having her kids close by always makes her happy, and with Peter’s aid, they’ve managed to create a delightful, family-oriented house. The actress stated that she could not have established her current life without the assistance of her spouse.

Mariska recently shared an Instagram story with a shot of a bright basket of flowers. Although she never revealed who presented it to her, it’s reasonable to believe Peter would not turn down such a kind gift.

On “Law & Order: SVU,” Mariska and Peter first met. Mariska had previously been on the programme for a time, and Peter had been in one episode in 2002. They had a great chemistry and began spending time together right away. They dated for several years before getting married in 2004.

The couple knew they desired to get married and raise a family from the beginning, and their first son, August, gave them the opportunity to do so. They understood they desired to expand their family after the birth of their first son. However, rather than having another child, Peter and Mariska opted to adopt.

They began to investigate their choices, including both domestic and foreign adoption. Mariska and Peter continued to hope and pray for the right new addition to their family, and in 2011, they discovered Amaya Josephine. When she was born, they felt she was the one for them, and Mariska said, their prayers were fulfilled.

The family was overjoyed to have Amaya among them. August, her elder brother, was overjoyed about his new sister and told his parents that he would be the finest big brother anybody could ask for. But, not long after Amaya joined their small group, they were greeted by an amazing twist.

When Peter and Mariska relate the tale of how they chose to adopt, they usually joke that August thinks it was his idea. They revealed that August had come home after a playdate at a friend’s house and expressed a desire for a younger sibling. In fact, his parents were already thinking about having another child.

They realised it was time to adopt when they heard August plead for a sibling and began searching around. Peter and Mariska commented on the adoption procedure, saying they were lucky since it moved considerably faster for them than in many other situations.

Soon after Amaya joined their family, August recommended they add another baby to their burgeoning family. Although Peter and Mariska were taken aback when their oldest asked for another sibling, they loved the idea and began looking again. Peter revealed that when they decided to go forward with the adoption, August assumed it was his idea. Then he desired a little boy. “Really?” they asked. Their second kid, Andrew, miraculously dropped out of the sky and into their home.

Andrew was adopted just four months after Amaya was. Nevertheless, the parents were overjoyed when they learned they might adopt the kid and leaped at the chance.
