Mom’s ‘tuck and roll’ carpool line tutorial strikes a chord with parents

One Texas parent has shared a humorous public service ad regarding the school drop-off queue.

Lateasha Witherspoon illustrates how to rapidly escape a vehicle in a now-viral TikTok video with the aid of her boys, Jason, 8, and Jeremiah, 6.

Firstly, put your kids in the back seat, Witherspoon advises, adding that if you have numerous kids, train them how to “slip” or “shuffle” out.

Once you’re “three or four automobiles” away from the authorized drop-off place, make sure your kids are “holding the latch.” According to Witherspoon, they should also be wearing their bags. Being uneasy for a few seconds will not harm them; in fact, she claims it is beneficial to their posture.

They have to be ready to go, she says.

After that, Witherspoon sends a strong warning to other parents.

One needs to quit getting out of the car and opening the doors for them.  Let them unlock their own door – it takes too long, she says.

Her final suggestion is a game changer.

Most significantly, Witherspoon quips, one is surrendering.  It’s not a halt. It is a yield… They ‘ll show them how to tuck and roll.

Witherspoon’s video has struck a chord with parents around, including actress Kristen Bell, who shared it on her Instagram story on Monday.

“I wish I could like this 100 times,” one TikTok user said of Witherspoon’s video.

“Every parent should be obliged to see this movie before the first week of school,” said another.

They’ve gone to three different schools, and it’s the same thing, Witherspoon, 32, expressed. It’s always sluggish no matter what time you get there. Every morning, she gets anxious. They have to get to work; they have someplace to be.

Soon after sharing the teaching, Witherspoon received a call from the principal of the school where Jason and Jeremiah attend. Witherspoon first believed she was in jeopardy. But it was the exact reverse.

“He was like, ‘I gotta thank you,’” she explained. “He wants to put it on the [Facebook] page for the school!”
