So, my upstairs neighbor has a really loud drying machine and the noise it makes really vibrates throughout my roof and it’s incredibly distracting. It feels like an engine is running and the sound emanates like waves (up and down), which is driving me insane.
I guess I would be ok with this if it ran for a few hours a few days per week. However, this mf runs every single day for hours on end.
A couple of weeks ago, I decided to knock on their door (they are just a couple in their 40s) and ask if they could just not turn it on at night, because I couldn’t sleep. They were very nice about it and ever since we talked, they haven’t turned it on past 8pm.
I thought this would make life a little better, but now (because they don’t dry their clothes at night), they’re running it ALL DAY. I wake up to the sound of it in the morning and have to WFH with this noise for more that 10 hours a day, every single day.
This does not seem like normal behavior. I live with 2 other people and we never use the washing/drying machine everyday, let alone have it run for the whole day, 7 days a week.
Am I being unreasonable or is this very abnormal behavior?
