Very recently, a story has been going viral online where a front-office member of staff at a restaurant had a ruthless argument with some impolite customers and the chef took a decision that he wasn’t going to have any of it.
Founder and chef at the Cora restaurant in Cardiff, UK, Lee Skeet, who has of late shared how he controlled some nasty customers at his restaurant.
An opulent group of patrons came over to Skeet’s restaurant and eventually racking up a bill of £1,100. The question is not about the bill here, but it is about the customers.
Chef’s tweet which has now gone viral, Skeet described how he showed the impolite patrons an example by prohibiting them and providing their money to the 22-year-old front office staff.
As per Skeet, the patrons’ conduct was unsuitable as they spoken down to the worker, touched without her consent and displayed lack of respect.
In the beginning, the chef thought of refunding a part of the bill but he eventually ended up simply transferring all of it to the 22 year old Lily as reasonable recompense.
After speaking to Lily at length, the chef was certain that it’s fine that the customers never coming back to the restaurant. The chef also sought to send them their money back after deducting almost 10% or £100 off the bill as a well-earned gratuity for Lily but then he ended up giving her the entire sum of the bill amount.
Skeet concluded in his letter to the clients and wrote that one should evaluate the people you are surrounding with. Skeet’s letter quickly found its way on to the social media platforms where it didn’t go overlooked.
Shortly after posting, Skeet’s letter went viral, stimulating not only broader media attention but also heaps of acclaim for taking a stand for his colleague and setting respectable standards for restaurant supervisors.
In a continuation post, Skeet moreover conveyed how honoured he is of Lily for putting up a great level of class and honesty.
A London-based law company has initiated an enquiry after the restaurant’s proprietor’s complaint as it was the firm’s high-ranking staff that show up for the dinner. The Law form refused to comment as the inquiry is still in process.
People online were very kind of Skeet’s conclusion and shared their views on the incident.
However, the entire state of affairs has been going eagerly viral as Skeet’s tweet gathered 131,500 likes with a little over 14,000 retweets and has seen just about a couple thousand likes on Instagram too.
