Prince Charles’ Sons Had Reportedly Refused To Call Camilla ‘Queen’ As That Title Belonged Only To Diana

The relationship between Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall’s has undeniably controversial. They had an affair even though Charles was still wedded to Princess Diana and it is said that the supposed affair distressed the deceased princess.

Then misfortune struck in 1996 when Princess Diana died in a car accident.  Subsequent to this, Charles and Camilla started publicly dating two years after Princess Diana’s demise. Harry and William were still juveniles when their mom died and Charles decided that it would be ideal to wait till they were grown-ups to get wedded to Camilla.

Camilla doesn’t go by the designation of princess, in spite of Diana doing so. Camilla in fact had the chance to pick up the designation “Princess of Wales,” but since the late Diana was conferred that title, Camilla evaded it.

As Charles is next in the queue to the throne, designations all over the family will change when he turns into monarch as everybody moves in the positions. Yet, Camilla’s designation probably turns out to be “Princess Consort” and not “Queen Consort” which is the usual designation for the spouse of a ruling monarch. Charles sought to alter this and the Queen has braced this choice, but neither Harry nor William had sought Camilla to have the designation that fairly fit to their mother.

A declaration from the palace was out on Feb. 10, 2005 that declared their wedding and instantly stated that Camilla would be using the title “HRH The Duchess of Cornwall.” It explained that Camilla should use the title HRH The Princess Consort when The Prince of Wales assents to the throne.

As the period of Charles taking the seat is very close, folks have been inquisitive if Camilla will be given the designation “Queen Consort” as an alternative. It is stated that Charles is trying to persuade his sons to let Camilla have the designation, but Harry and William are fervently not in favour.

Royal author Robert Lacey wrote that Harry and William will never agree to Camilla taking the place that should have been occupied by their mother.

Since Prince Harry and Prince William have unbelievable connection and attachment with their mom’s inheritance, it’s clear that the matter of seeing their father get married again was a delicate one. The princes were 15 and 12 years old when their mom pass away. This was the purpose why Charles and Camilla paused their marriage.

Though the Royal Family twitter account tweeted a significant communication from the Queen in February 2022. The communication typically spoke about her gratefulness for being the ruling monarch for 70 years and her thankfulness for her family.

In the communication, it is stated that when her son Charles turn out to be King, she knows that people will give him and Camilla the same support that they have given her and it is her genuine request that Camilla will be recognized as Queen Consort as she endures her own loyal service.

The designation that Camilla will take could still be up for discussion as there hasn’t been one old method that the crowned heads have lived by in the past. When King William III ruled, his spouse Queen Mary II went by “queen” rather than “queen consort.”

Moreover, several people have speculated that Charles will alter his name with a new possible title of King George VII, once he takes the seat.
