William, Prince of Wales, has waved goodbye to Queen Elizabeth II, who has played an important role in his life. The monarch not only assisted in the raising of her grandson, but she also groomed him as the future King of England.
Following Queen Elizabeth II’s death on September 8, 2022, at the age of 96, Prince William offered a passionate homage to her.
The Prince of Wales said on Instagram that Her Majesty was with him through the ups and downs of his life.
The statement came after the royal matriarch’s death, in which the royal appreciated the sovereign’s assistance during his struggles and tribulations, as well as for being there for him and his younger brother, Prince Harry, following the death of his mother, Princess Diana.
Her boys were just 12 and 15 years old when the Princess of Wales died in a vehicle accident in August 1997. After she died, her mother-in-law took care of her sons and zealously defended them.
As teens, the princes became quite close to the Queen. Prince William praised his grandmother for her constant encouragement throughout the years ahead of the monarch’s 90th birthday in 2016- Having lost his mother at a young age, it’s been really significant to him that he has lost somebody like the Queen to look up to, who’s been there, who’s experienced some of the more difficult challenges that come with losing a loved one.
The prince acknowledged thanks for the Queen’s “leadership” and heartfelt gratitude for having learnt so much from her. He predicted that her death would take some time to settle in, noting that the queen usually said- Grief is the price they pay for love.
The Prince of Wales recalls all of the moments he shared with the Queen following Princess Diana’s death, and he earlier stated that her funeral would be tough.
According to royal insiders, the Prince of Wales and Duke of Sussex had a terrible time saying goodbye to their grandmother at Westminster Abbey, the same site they said goodbye to their mother.
In the 2017 BBC documentary “Diana, 7 Days,” Prince William confessed that the situation was difficult for him- That hike was one of the most difficult things he had ever done. She seemed to be walking beside them to help them get through it.
On September 6, 1997, Prince William and Prince Harry lay their mother to rest. They walked from Kensington Palace to Westminster Abbey for her ceremony, accompanying their father, now-King Charles III, grandfather, Prince Philip, and uncle, Charles, Earl of Spencer.
On September 19, 2022, the royal siblings buried their grandmother at a state funeral in London. During the parade, they strolled next to each other.
The Duke of Sussex was flanked by their cousin, Peter Philips, while the Prince of Wales was flanked by his eldest child, Prince George. Their father, who went in the first row behind the coffin with his siblings, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward, joined them.
The King, Princess Royal, Earl of Wessex, and Prince of Wales saluted Britain and Commonwealth soldiers as Her Majesty’s funeral procession passed the Cenotaph in London. They were killed in the First and Second World Wars.
While passing the Cenotaph, Prince Harry bent his head. He and his uncle, the Duke of York, dressed in suits, while senior royals donned military uniforms as they are no longer working royals.
Furthermore, the Queen’s children and grandchildren formed a line behind the gun carriage that took the monarch to her ultimate resting place. There was a two-minute calm until the sounds of boots tapping in unison on the cobblestones and shouted military instructions erupted outside Westminster Hall.
The procession to Westminster Abbey began the sovereign’s trip to her ultimate burial place in New Palace Yard. Tens of thousands of people crowded the streets to bid their tearful goodbye to England’s longest-reigning king, capturing the momentous occasion.
