Princess Diana’s former butler claims Harry married Meghan Markle ‘because she’s like Diana’

In a recent interview with Closer magazine, Princess Diana’s longtime butler and close friend Paul Burrell stated that Prince Harry fell for Meghan Markle for one essential reason. Burrell compares the Duchess of Sussex’s personality to that of her late husband’s mother.

Burrell explained that Harry chose and married Meghan as she is similar to Diana. Both ladies who would never be pushovers and would always stand up for what they believe in.

Despite their similarities, Burrell admits the women would have clashed occasionally assuming they got the opportunity to get to know one another. He stated he supposed they could have collided and it would have been two strong, independent women with opposing viewpoints-a struggle between Meghan’s way and Diana’s way.

As per Burrell, the fundamental contrast between Meghan and Diana is that when she joined the Royal Family, Meghan had considerably more experience with the press. Burrell stated he thinks the biggest difference is that Meghan has a game plan, whereas Diana was young and naive. Diana collaborated on the book with Andrew Morton and courted the press throughout the years because she lacked a voice. And her tenacity meant she cared, and she believed the people of the country had a right to know what happened behind closed doors.

However Burrell feels Meghan and Diana would have conflicted, Harry has frequently stated that he believes his mother and bride would have gotten along just fine. Harry said in their first joint interview, which took place shortly after they announced their engagement without a doubt, they’d be as thick as thieves. Not only that, but his mother would have been pleased jumping with joy for her son. As already stated, Diana would have been best friends with Meghan.
