Recently Trishia Meadows, a 43 year old teacher from Florida needed to be stretchered out of her classroom after allegedly being attacked by the five year old. She is been hospitalized after the incident and it is said that Trishia has been attacked on three separate occasions by the same student.
Cops have stated that the case began when the troublesome child and a four year old student were throwing objects and flipping chairs in a pre-K classroom. Trishia took the rowdy five year old into a ‘cool down’ room where she was attacked. The child used all his strength to take her down and injuring her severely that she had to be intubated.
The troublesome kid actually ran and attacked and jumped on her with his whole body weight. Trishia fell down and he hit her head which caused the severe injury and other bodily damages where she will likely go for a surgery.
Ana Fusco, President of Broward Teachers Union said that Trishia has been hospitalized several times by this student. Anna said that it’s not this first time, not the second time, it’s the third time. She says the five-year-old once threw a bookcase while the class sat for circle time trapping Trishia underneath.
Anna said that Trishia is not expected to return to the school anytime soon.
The Police Department is currently investigating the instance which was defined in their report as a serious assault with hands, fist or feet.
Police officials confirmed that the child will not be charged and that child protective investigations responded to the child’s home.
The school principal has sent a message to parents and staff that said the campus was secure at all times during the incident. The principal said in her message that as always, the health, safety and well-being of school’s students and staff continues to be her highest priority.
But the principal’s message seems not enough for some parents, who said that they do not feel safe after the repeated attacks. One of the parents said that this is not the first time this has happened at this school and in this classroom. The concerned parents further said that it is about a special needs class and there needs to be the proper support.
