According to officials, a 12-year-old girl from Texas shot her dad as part of a scheme with a buddy to kill their families and flee their homes.
According to the Parker County Sheriff’s Office, the teenager and her companion had plotted the murder plot for weeks. They reportedly planned to murder their family and dogs before escaping to Georgia together.
According to the sheriff’s office, the girl’s buddy never carried out the plot.
On Tuesday about 11:30 p.m., deputies arrived to a gunshot at a residence in Weatherford, Texas.
The girl was discovered on the street with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head and a pistol under her. Her dad was discovered with a gunshot wound to the abdomen within the house.
The girl and her dad were both airlifted to the hospital. Their present situation is unclear.
According to authorities, the daughter appears to have shot her dad before fleeing the scene and killing herself.
She intended to travel to Lufkin, Texas, to pick up a buddy before continuing on to Georgia.
According to the sheriff’s office, the companion has been accused of criminal conspiracy in the plotting of the murder plot.
The girls’ motivations are unknown. The event is also being investigated by the Lufkin Police Department.
Due to the injuries, the age of the children, and the delicate nature of the case, details related to this matter will be limited, Parker County Sheriff Russ Authier said in a statement.
To safeguard the youngsters, the sheriff’s office stated it does not name minor suspects and would not reveal the identity of the adult victim.
