Gisele Bündchen, the Brazilian supermodel, has opened up about her divorce from former NFL player Tom Brady, putting an end to rumors that had circulated since they announced their separation in October 2022. In a tell-all interview with Vanity Fair, Bündchen, who was married to Brady for 13 years, revealed that the split had been “the death of my dream” and that it was tough to accept that her life wasn’t going to be the way she imagined it.
Bündchen clarified that the reason behind their separation was not an ultimatum about Brady retiring from football but rather that they wanted different things in life. “Sometimes you grow together; sometimes you grow apart,” she explained. “In order for you to be authentic and truly live the life that you want to live, you have to have somebody who can meet you in the middle, right? It’s a dance. It’s a balance.”
Bündchen also addressed the rumors that had circulated about their split, saying that they were “very hurtful” and “the craziest thing I’ve ever heard.” She emphasized that she had always supported Brady and wanted him to be happy and achieve his dreams.
The former couple shares two children, and they have committed to co-parenting them. Bündchen said that she feels blessed for the time they had together and only wishes the best for Brady always.
Looking to the future, Bündchen is considering opening a wellness center and building a tiny solar-powered house in the mountains, where she can grow her food. She wants to do things that are an extension of herself and not be a character in anybody else’s movie.
