For Craig and Carrie Kosinki of Wisconsin, February 28 is a very extraordinary day. It happens to be the birthday of all six of their children.
Carrie Kosinski said that nearly four years ago, a woman contacted them and queried if they would be open to adopting her twins. The lady said that she was pregnant and wasn’t able to give the babies the lives they be worthy of and wanted to put them up for adoption.
Though the couple had intended on having biological children before adopting, but they just felt like that was what God wanted them to do, so they decided to put their own plans down and follow the plan that God had for them and that was to adopt first.
Adalynn and Kenna, both now 3 years old, were born by emergency C-section on February 28, 2014 which also happened to be the birthday of their twin biological siblings who had been born on the same date, a year before and also by emergency C-section.
The Kosinkis established lawful custody of Adalynn and Kenna when they were 3 months old. Then, a year later, their biological mother reached out to the Kosinskis again. This time, she asked if the couple would be eager to adopt her older set of twins, JJ and CeCe, and the answer was again yes.
The couple were in absolute shock, but super excited in September of 2015, when they found out that they themselves were expecting and a month later, they discovered that they would be having even more twins.
The twins’ due date was June 12, 2016, but after Carrie’s water broke at 19 weeks of hospital bed rest, she gave birth to twins Clarissa and Karraline by emergency C-section, again on February 28, 2016.
Even though they all share a birthday, Kosinski said her children are all very unalike. Each has their very own persona, which is very amusing but they get pulled in six different ways.
The Kosinskis said they want to express their story in the hopefulness of opening up other people’s minds about adoption. Carrie trusts that because God adopted us into His family that we were destined to adopt these children into our family.
The couple feels that it is such a massive blessing to them. They love all their children the equal and wouldn’t want their lives to be any different.
