Vietnam vet finally meets daughter after 50 yrs of not knowing he was a father.

After years of wandering abroad, he had settled into a comfortable nest, but there was one thing he believed he was lacking.

Then, as luck would have it, Barnes received a phone call that would change his life forever. He had no way of knowing who was looking for him after 50 years.

Barnes, like many other troops, sought refuge in the Philippines while fighting in Vietnam. Not only general alleviation and respite from fighting, but the kind of solace a soldier seeks in a woman’s embrace.

Barnes, on the other hand, can vividly recall resolving not to have kids – a pledge he was certain he’d fulfilled for a long time.

He had no idea that one day he would receive a phone call that would truly transform his life.

Olivia Robles, 50, discovered a distant cousin through ancestory.com, who brought her to the man she had always longed to meet: her dad.

That’s correct, despite the passage of fifty years, Barnes had never been informed that he had a daughter half a world away. When Olivia inquired whether he’d be prepared to undergo a DNA test to see if he was her father, he enthusiastically accepted.

When the test results were revealed, it became clear that the two of them shared a special relationship. It was the fulfillment of an unattainable dream for Barnes.

But there’s more to the story. Gary and Olivia chose to take the logical next step and meet in person after establishing their bond.

The time Barnes ultimately saw his daughter was captured, and it was a tear-jerking tribute to how lovely life can be. After searching for her dad for over 40 years, it’s easy to understand how crucial it was for Olivia to hug the man who gave her life.

This is a true miracle. She has been on this search for a long time, since she was 10 years old. And here thet are at 50 and 78, so it’s a miracle, she explained.

The stunning moment may be seen in the video below.
