Marilyn Monroe does not require an introduction. Friends thought her marriage to Joe DiMaggio was beautiful, but it ended because of his possessiveness. Even though they were no longer married, Joe never stopped loving Marilyn, even after she died.
Joe was by Marilyn’s side when she was sick and was the one who came to her rescue when she was institutionalized. She even referred to him as her hero. They bonded and became close again near the end of her life. Joe even wanted to marry her again, but she unfortunately died before he could.
Many years ago, Marilyn Monroe asked Joe DiMaggio to bring her roses on a weekly basis. He kept his vow till his death in 1999. He would send six fresh red roses with long stems to her grave three times every week.
