23-year-old Melanie Yates, a mother of two young children was reading the Bible on Sunday night to her youngest daughter when a lost gunshot passes in her house and hit her in the head.
Melanie passes away from her injuries the next morning.
When cops arrived at the house, they found mark of numerous gunshots fired near Melanie’s house. It was reported that she was not the planned target.
Her family is broken-hearted over the gunfire. So far cops do not have any accused and they are requesting the public to come forward if they have any evidence.
A GoFundMe page has created to support Melanie’s family with fiscal expenditures. Till now, more than $80,000 has been raised up. The family has also requested for prayers while they mourn the untimely demise of Melanie.

Melanie’s brother wrote on social media that they miss her fervent and influential prayers. He said that they miss her lovely melodic voice and funny humor.
