A teacher in Texas was reprimanded after she allegedly shut a raucous and highly dangerous pupil out of her classroom.
The Nevada, Texas, school system suspended fourth-grade teacher Judy Stough of McClendon Elementary School after she reportedly banned a youngster with behavioral issues from attending her classroom.
As he attempted to enter the room, the youngster allegedly said, he is going to [expletive] murder them.
He continued knocking on the door and screamed at them, fourth-grader Cheyenne Wilson stated. Majority of the kids were crying.
Several parents and children were outraged by the school district’s choice to dismiss the teacher and commended Stough for her bravery.
She handled it properly, another fourth-grader stated.
Stough has been expelled from school for allegedly escalating the conflict. Several text exchanges sent by Stough to another instructor were made available to the media.
Scares the heck out of her kids, Stough texted. One on the verge of peeing her trousers.
Several of the pupils were kept at home by their parents for several days following the event, fearing that the boy who had been shut out of the school posed a danger to their children.
She’d rather pay absenteeism and keep her safe than send her to school and risk her getting injured, parent Connie Wilson told KTVT.
A meeting was later held with parents and school authorities to address the event. According to the acting superintendent, the youngster had behavioral issues and that the kids were never in danger.
Many parents, like Brandie Bohmer, want Stough to resume her previous job.
She was safeguarding the kids in that class, Bohmer explained. She took a student and shut him out of class since he threatened to murder them. In her perspective, she rescued all those children she was assisting and attempting to safeguard all those children.
The superintendent addressed the incident, saying, they are aware of the danger, but no pupils were ever in risk.
