The Tennessee Highway Patrol is looking into an accident that happened early Sunday morning and killed six children.
Crews responded to reports of an accident on Interstate 24 between Pleasant View and Springfield shortly before 2 a.m. on Sunday, according to a social media post from Robertson County Emergency Services.

When responders arrived, they discovered an overturned car, as well as many juvenile patients in serious condition and an adult lady in critical condition.
Along with an overturned car, first responders saw another adjacent vehicle with a guy next to it who identified himself as the driver.
There were no injuries reported by the driver.
The only other vehicle involved was a badly damaged flipped automobile. Workers saw a guy wandering near the automobile who claimed to have been inside when it flipped. He looked to have minor injuries and was brought to a local hospital for treatment.
According to a news statement, there was an adult female outside the overturned automobile who looked to have been ejected from the vehicle and was also brought to a local hospital.
According to the statement, the other six passengers on the site were thrown from the car, were declared dead, and could not be resuscitated.
The six people were all ladies aged one to eighteen.
According to NBC affiliate WSMV in Nashville, Tennessee, the youngsters were in a red Toyota Camry with a man and a woman when it off the road and overturned.
The Tennessee Medical Examiner’s Office was sent to the site to take the dead individuals to the coroner’s office, and the Tennessee Highway Patrol is conducting the investigation.
