Robbie Middleton celebrated his eighth birth anniversary on June 28, 1998. He strolled through the forests that afternoon to meet a friend for a sleepover, but he was attacked by a monster just after that.
In a shocking crime in Texas, a young attacker knotted Robbie at a tree, put petrol on him and set alight him on fire. But thanks to Robbie’s testament on his deathbed, a lad from Texas could lastly get justice after 17 years. The culprit received the extreme sentence permitted and Robbie’s family was given the maximum compensations ever executed in the country.
Robbie was a normal child who went to school. But on his eighth birth anniversary, he encountered a monster that would totally finish him and his household. Don Collins, who was 13 at the time of the incident, knotted him to a tree and put petrol on him before igniting him on fire.
The horrifying outbreak took place near Robbie’s home in Splendora, Texas. He was on his way to a friend’s house when he confronted culprit.
Robbie’s 99 per cent body was charred and he was not likely to live. In spite of the blazes, he succeeded to wobble home, failing on the road in a ball of burnt flesh. His frightened mother found him almost dead with severe sores on his entire body.
Hospice staff clarified that Robbie wouldn’t live. He underwent more than 150 surgeries and spent days at a rehabilitation centre. Even though he was brutally shocked and mutilated, Robbie swiftly became identified for his hopefulness.
Unfortunately, Robbie’s body started deteriorating 10 years after the outbreak. He was diagnosed with cancer which was directly related to his burns. Robbie’s third-degree burns turned into fatal skin cancer at the age of 20.
US law court reigned that his demise was a homicide. Don Collins had been alleged of the wrongdoing but was out for absence of evidence.
Middleton family’s attorney took novel testament from Robbie on his deathbed and he established that Don committed the horrifying crime. In the video, the law court heard Robbie confirm what happened.
Just prior to dying, he told investigators that Don gripped his shoulder and dispensed gas onto his face and he did not actually think of whatever after that. The attorney logged his testimony and in February 2015, a law court in Galveston penalized the now 29-year-old culprit.
The attorney stated during the trial that the object for the crime was that Don sexually exploited Robbie two weeks prior the incident. In the video, Robbie told the attorney that Don did it to keep his mouth shut. As per Robbie, Collins had sexually assaulted him at the same place just few days earlier he was set alight on fire.
Judges examined the video in which Robbie admitted the whole thing from the hospital bed just 17 days earlier his demise.
Robbie’s family granted the maximum compensations of US 150 billion, the highest ever given in the US.
