The youngsters have been named as Xander Clark, 9, and his sister Ziva Clark, 8, both straight-A students at Robey Elementary School, according to sources. The Owen County Sheriff’s Office stated that deputies were summoned to the Indian Oaks Campground in Taylor Township just after 2 p.m. this weekend, but the twins died at the scene.
On Tuesday afternoon, family members issued a statement in remembrance of their “wonderful kids,” adding that a memorial foundation has been established on their behalf to serve as a method to encourage the activities they liked most, and were near and dear to their hearts.
High winds were to blame for the downfall of a massive dead tree. According to Owen County Coroner Angi Frank, the youngsters died as a result of blunt force trauma.
Their amazing kids, Alexander Xander Clark, age 9, and Ziva Clark, age 8, the cherished son and daughter of Brian and Crystal Clark, died away April 23, 2022, the family said in a statement. At Robey Elementary School, both were straight-A students. Horizons was Xander’s third grade year, while Ziva was in second.
Xander was an accomplished martial artist, holding a 4th Level 1st Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo. He was also a skilled basketball player who practiced every day, regardless of the weather. He was a die-hard Pacers fan who aspired to be a professional basketball player as well as a part-time meteorologist. Xander enjoyed fishing and spending time outside in his leisure time.
Ziva competed in gymnastics at Westside Gymnastics. She worked on her balancing beam and bars routines every day to improve them. She won first place overall and fourth place in the state competition. She spent her time perfecting her abilities in order to become an Olympic gymnast or a professional snowboarder. This year, Ziva excelled in several gymnastic events and won numerous tournaments. Ziva also enjoyed returning Xander’s fish to the pond after he had caught them, but she would always kiss them before she did so.
Survivors include grandparents John and Carol Clark, in addition to their parents. Mr. Clark has been a Wayne Township teacher and Athletic Director for many years and has affected many lives. Grandparents Lori and Kevin Marsh, who are exceptional and caring grandparents who cherished them beyond the stars and constantly helped develop their minds in every way imaginable, and Grandparents Alan and Suzanne Driver were there by his side and gave just as much time to the community. Alan is a retired IMPD officer and motorcycle officer.
He and his wife Suzanne have always prioritized their family and would do anything for any family at the drop of a hat. Many loved aunts, uncles, and cousins are left behind to treasure Xander and Ziva’s memory and share their tales of how two young, beautiful children touched their lives. Later in the week, a memorial service will be conducted to celebrate their legacies.
In lieu of flowers, Xander and Ziva’s memorial foundation has been created at the Professional Police Officers Credit Union, 1502 Washington St., Indianapolis, IN. This will allow them to encourage the activities they most liked and were close to their hearts. This includes, but is not limited to, Westside Gymnastics, The Way Martial Arts, and Robey Elementary, as well as any future Brian, Crystal, Xander, and Ziva requirements. Furthermore, a Meal Train is available for one to enjoy a dinner with one’s family via GrubHub as a present from one’s family to theirs. Please continue to remember and pray for the Clark and Driver families at this terrible time.

Xander and Ziva’s parents, who were driving the golf cart in which their kids were riding, were not hurt when the tree collapsed. The event was alleged to have “heavily damaged” a second car.
A Meal Train has been established to assist the family during this tough time.
Please keep the Clark and Driver Families in one’s thoughts and prayers at this extremely difficult time, the family said in a statement.
My heartfelt condolences and prayers go out to the Clark family. I have no idea how to process such a horrific event that takes the lives of not one, but two innocent youngsters.
