95-Yr-old Is ‘Fighting For Her Life’ In Hospital After Being Tasered By Police In Her Nursing Home.

After reportedly being tasered by police at an Australian nursing home, an elderly lady is in a critical state with a broken skull and brain hemorrhaging.

After dramatic events transpired at the Yallambee Lodge elderly care home in Cooma, a little over four hours south west of Sydney, New South Wales Police have today announced that a critical incident inquiry has been opened.

The 95-year-old, who suffers from dementia, was the focus of the disturbance, according to NSW Police.

A serious incident inquiry has been started after an elderly woman suffered wounds during an interaction with police at an aged care facility in the state’s south today, according to NSW Police. A critical incident team is going to examine the events surrounding the occurrence.

This investigation will be subjected to independent scrutiny.

The 95-year-old lady was transported to Cooma District Hospital, where her health is being closely watched.

Andrew Thaler, who campaigned as an independent candidate for the Eden-Monaro local government region, talked to the Guardian with the woman’s family’s consent.

He stated she was tasered in the early morning hours of Wednesday.

That led to the police Tasering this woman twice, once in front of her chest and once in the back, after which she fell and hit her head, Thaler said.

The family is in mourning as they don’t expect their grandmother to live through the day, or even tomorrow.

Due to continuing inquiries, the Snowy Monaro Regional Council, which operates Yallambee Lodge, was also unable to comment on the issue.

Yasmin Catley, NSW Police Minister, told that her sympathies are with the lady and her family.

They understand NSW Police have announced a critical incident investigation and will take whatever measure is appropriate, stated a Catley representative. Their thoughts and best wishes are with Mrs. Nowland and her family.

The lady has been identified as Clare Nowland, a dementia sufferer renowned for her enthusiasm for life in Cooma.

It is also reported that when Nowland reached 80 years old, she went skydiving to commemorate the occasion.

She is also a member of the Cooma Golf Club, although owing to her age, she is no longer able to play. She also went to St Patrick’s Catholic Church in Cooma on a regular basis.
