Life is an unpredictable journey. You never know what happens next. No one is sure about when happiness or sorrows enter our lives. Here is a heart-rending story of a young mom who lost her life in an unexpected manner.
Rebecca McCurdy, 28, mom of two children, was doing a favour to a friend by house sitting and pet-sitting when a horrible tragedy took place that cost her precious life. Sadly she was killed by the pit bulls who she was dog-sitting.
When officers visited the home to perform a welfare check they found Rebecca’s body in the garage of the home. According to the Osage County Sheriff’s Office the homeowner raised pit bull dogs for hobby/sale. In the garage he had caged many pit bull dogs. They believe one of the dog cages must have toppled over since there were plenty of signs of a dog attack seen.
Rebecca’s family and loved ones were speechless and beyond heartbroken and found it hard to move forward with this loss that is unforgettable.
McCurdy’s obituary expressed, “Rebecca always had a smile on her face and brought joy and laughter to those around her.”
The family and neighbours fondly remembered her for being sweet and mischievous. Always in the best way possible keeping everyone on their toes. In their words, “The void she is leaving behind is vast and wide and our lives will be forever changed without her with us.”
A GoFundMe page was created to help Rebecca’s husband Brandon McCurdy and their two children Brandon and Reagan as they move on with their life. People remembered Rebecca’s warmth and supported the family immensely.
