Cheslie Kryst, Miss USA 2019 And ‘Extra’ Correspondent, Dies By Suicide At 30.

We all have our good and bad times in life. But when you are unable to overcome the bad time remember to speak your heart to anyone whom you trust. Suicide is not the solution to any problem. Things do get better and healing is possible. It’s heartbreaking to know that we lost such a beautiful, talented girl to suicide.

Cheslie Kryst, 30, Miss USA 2019, an accomplished attorney and Extra correspondent died by suicide on Monday early morning. Cheslie lived on the 9th floor of the 60th story Orion building. She was last seen alone on the terrace the day before she killed herself.

When officers arrived to the scene at around 7:15 morning Cheslie’s body was found in the street below. The New York Police Department are investigating the situation for her death even though it seemed to be a suicide. A note was found from Cheslie’s home.

The note said that whatever Cheslie owned all her assets will be left to her mother April Simpkins. Simpkins served as Mrs. North Carolina 2002 and currently owns many businesses. Cheslie’s family gave a statement confirming her death, “In devastation and great sorrow, we share the passing of our beloved Cheslie. Her great light was one that inspired others around the world with her beauty and strength. She cared, she loved, she laughed and she shined.

Cheslie embodied, loved and served others, whether through her work as an attorney fighting for social justice, as Miss USA, and as a host on Extra. But most importantly as a daughter, sister, friend , mentor and colleague-we know her impact will live on.”

Remembering Cheslie, Extra also released a statement where the company behind the show shared, “Our hearts are broken. Cheslie was not just a vital part of our show. She was a beloved part of our Extra family and touched the entire staff. Our deepest condolences to all her family and friends.”
