Life in foster care can be challenging. Every child wants and wishes to have a loving forever home. Here is a child who longs to have a family of his own to whom he could share his feelings. Hope his prayers will be answered soon.
The conversation with a 9-year-old kid, whose sole wish was to have a family of his own, was devastating. Jordan has been in foster care since he was three years old; he has a biological brother, Braison, with whom he shared a home, but he was Jordan’s sole family. Jordan was placed in foster care after Braison was adopted.
Jordan’s permanency planning worker, Christopher Marlowe, claimed that the Oklahoma Department of Human Services hoped to bring Jordan and Braison closer together so that they could spend more time together.
Christopher expressed in an interview that his brother’s adoptive family has agreed to that and if things go well they would be ready to take them out on day passes in order to spend quality time together.
Jordan’s tragic condition was covered by a television station in his home state of Oklahoma.
When asked where he would travel in the world if he could go, he replied to an adoption celebration for a home. All he wanted in life, he claimed, was a loving family.
Jordan stated that all he wants is a family to call mom and dad, or just mom or dad. It’s crucial because he’ll be able to talk to someone whenever he needs to. He’s hoping that somebody will choose him.
The video of his interview went viral, touching the emotions of millions of people around the country. Calls came in from all across the country, including New Jersey, Florida, Illinois, and Kentucky, to mention a few.
Many people also wished to send emotional greetings and offers of assistance to the 9-year-old who lives in a group home but longs for a feeling of normalcy and compassion and love of a parent.
Jordan’s dream in life, to have a family, will now come true after 5,000 adoption applications were submitted for the boy.
Christopher says he’s committed to find him a great and loving family for the rest of his life. Jordan, he remarked, has gone through a lot in such a short period of time. In Christopher’s words, “He’s gone through a lot compared to most of our kids, even for a youngster who’s been through custody.”
Jordan’s drive to never give up in the face of adversity is inspiring. This young man has already been through so much and still maintains a positive attitude.
Watch the video and please share to urge more people to consider becoming foster parents and provide kids like Jordan with the loving home they deserve.
