Salem Sabatka, an eight-year-old girl snatched off the street in front of her mother. She was found safe seven hours later in a Texas hotel room before police detained Michael Webb, a 51-year-old suspect in her abduction case. Michael Webb has been booked on a charge of serious kidnapping.
Salem had been out on a walk with her mother in Fort Worth’s Ryan Place locality when a man snatched the girl and put her in his car.
Heart-wrenching investigation video showed Salem’s mother jumping into the vehicle and desperately trying to save her daughter before the kidnapper pushed her out and drove off. The car sped off and the mother immediately dialled 911.
Shortly after her snatching, an Amber Alert was issued for Salem telling the suspect as a light skinned black male of skinny build and the car as a dark grey four-door sedan with alloy wheels. The alert included a photo of Salem wearing the same shirt she had on when she was taken.
Two residents reached out to the authorities and reported seeing a car that in line of the Amber Alert description in the parking lot of the WoodSprings Suites hotel in Forest Hill.
Officers send off to the hotel to determine which room the suspect was staying in and broke the door. Salem was reportedly found in good condition but was taken to a local hospice to be checked out.
Police show gratitude the public for spreading the info about the suspect, which eventually allowed them to bring Salem back home safe.
