Children are a blessing of God. Not all are lucky to experience this beautiful phase and when you do value it. Cherish those moments with your little ones. However, here this lady cannot be called a mother and hopes to get a punishment for her actions.
A mother reportedly deserted her 5-year-old nonverbal kid with autism on the side of a quiet roadway in Ohio on a chilly stormy evening. The incident in Colerain Township was captured on two distinct household video cameras from nearby residences.
Martin Thomas Adkins was supposedly deserted 75 miles from his home and travelled for an hour alone in the dark before being rescued by a passing automobile.
Prosecutors said his mother, Heather Adkins, 32, of Indiana, may face up to 11 years in jail.
Footage shows a white SUV, which investigators believe Adkins was driving, come to a halt about 8 p.m. and essentially throw (Martin) out of the car.
One of the security footage showed the small kid strolling about on the porch of a house that is claimed to be adjacent to a stream with an extra 10 feet of water in which the youngster may have fallen; the street was also near a construction site.
When a passing motorist noticed Martin flailing his arms on the side of the road, he stopped over and dialled 911. When another passerby saw the abandoned kid, they halted and let him warm himself in their car until the cops came.
Martin is nonverbal, so officers had no idea how he ended up strolling about alone at night.
The photograph of Martin publicly requesting assistance in finding his family was then circulated by police. Residents in Shelbyville, Indiana, recognised Martin after seeing his photographs.
Prosecutor Deters added that imagining what this 5-year-old nonverbal child went through is awful. The boy must have been bewildered and hurt. His mother abandons him on a perilous road, 70 miles from his home, in the pouring rain.
Two days after the event, his mother was arrested in Georgetown, Kentucky. She was extradited from Kentucky to Ohio. The toddler had scrapes on his face and ears, as well as rotting teeth, when he was discovered.
His mother is presently incarcerated on allegations of kidnapping and endangering children, with a maximum sentence of 11 years in prison if convicted.
Hoping that this child is now secure and that he may find a loving and caring family that he truly deserves.
