The link between owner and pet is unparalleled—they’re our constant companions, constantly there for the trip no matter what life throws at us.
When their security camera notified them that their pet dog was at the front door, a Kansas family on vacation was taken aback. Dexter was meant to be in doggie daycare when he escaped and ran all the way home.
Jeremy and Sarah Henson, the dog’s owners, were a thousand miles away in Las Vegas on a week-long holiday. They received a notice on their phone that someone had arrived at their front door.
Jeremy stated that they were both incredibly amazed and said that was Dexter. Dexter was scheduled to stay at the childcare office for five days, however on the third day, he was so homesick that he bolted. According to Jeremy, Dexter would have had to jump a 6-foot fence to get home.
The lonesome pup arrived two miles and 90 minutes later and rang the bell. “He was tethered and determined. He obviously didn’t realise we were gone since he assumed we were at home. And he takes his responsibility to safeguard us extremely seriously,” Jeremy stated.
Before phoning the pet daycare business, the couple tried all they could to calm Dexter down over the speaker. They arrived and returned Dexter.
His parents were not astonished that he fled and returned home. Jeremy explained that Dexter is highly brilliant and that insight may get him into problems.
