Queen extends olive branch as Monarch celebrates Archie’s 3rd birthday

The Royal Family Twitter account, which represents Her Majesty and all senior royals without their own social media accounts, expressed respect to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s son. The account wished Archie, who was born on this day three years ago, a happy birthday in a simple note.

“Wishing Archie Mountbatten-Windsor a very happy 3rd Birthday!” said the tweet.

The account also appeared to give hope for peace to the boy’s parents, since the message contained a photo of the Sussexes taken two days after the boy’s birth, on May 8, 2019.

The photograph represents the Queen’s first meeting with Archie. Meghan is gazing over her baby in the shot by Chris Allerton, who is covered in a white blanket and little cap.

Doria Ragland, Archie’s mother, can be seen staring adoringly at him, as the Queen, Prince Philip, and Duke of Sussex all grin broadly. This touching encounter occurred soon after Harry and Meghan unveiled their son to the world at a photocall at Windsor Castle.

During a brief conversation with the photographers present, the new parents were asked whether Archie planned to meet his great-grandparents. Meghan then said that on their way to the photocall, her son had “bumped into” the Duke of Edinburgh.

The Royal Family Twitter account started the celebrations for Archie’s birthday, and it was immediately followed by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, as well as the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall.

Kate and Prince William tweeted a photo from Archie’s baptism in July 2019 with the Cambridges, Sussexes and their tot, Prince Charles, Camilla, Ms Ragland, and Princess Diana’s sisters, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Lady Jane Fellowes.

“Wishing Archie a very happy 3rd Birthday today,” the message said.

A greeting for Meghan and Harry’s firstborn was also sent on Prince Charles and Camilla’s Twitter account.

Unlike the Royal Family and Kensington Royals accounts, Clarence House just retweeted the Queen’s social media greeting, adding, “Happy birthday Archie.”

The royals last got the opportunity to see the kid face to face in mid-November 2019, preceding his parents leaving for a six-week vacation. It was then discovered that the three-person family spent Thanksgiving and Christmas in Canada.

While Prince Harry and Meghan travelled to the United Kingdom twice between January and March 2020, their son stayed in the United States.

Archie crossed the Canadian border with his parents in late March, only a few days before the Duke and Duchess formally stood down as senior royals.

Archie, Harry, and Meghan moved to the star-studded Santa Barbara neighborhood of Montecito in the summer of 2020. While the Queen has not been able to see Archie in person for some months, the great-grandmother and child have interacted through video connection.

When he appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden in February 2021, Harry said of Philip and the Queen that they have zoomed in on them several times. Archie has been seen running around.

He also said that the queen gave the youngster a waffle maker as a Christmas present after learning he desired one.

In his most recent appearance Harry expressed a wish for his beloved grandma to meet his children.

When asked if he will fly to the United Kingdom for the Platinum Jubilee festivities in June, he stated he is not sure yet. There are several difficulties about security and everything else. So that’s what he is attempting to do, to make it feasible for his children to meet her.
