According to a relative, the Texas school shooter’s grandmother, whom he shot in the face prior killing 19 students and two teachers, may never be able to speak again.
The bullet entered through Sally’s jaw right near to her mouth and fractured all her teeth, said Jason Ybarra, a second cousin of Celia “Sally” Martinez Gonzales, 66.
He explained that if the bullet had been an inch in the opposite way, it would have blasted her skull off.
Ybarra, 45, added, considering what occurred, she’s doing really well. However, she may never be able to speak again.
Martinez Gonzales is now speaking exclusively through writing, according to Ybarra.
On Tuesday, she was the first victim of Salvador Ramos, who started shooting on innocent kids and educators at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas.
The grandmother has already had four operations for her injuries, including one on Sunday, and will have many more, according to Ybarra.
Her husband, Rolando Reyes, stated that his wife was awake but she’s in agony. He explained, she has a notepad where she writes what she’s trying to say, but she gets irritated when they can’t figure it out.
Ramos had been living with his grandparents for the previous two or three months prior his murderous shooting spree.
