Tori Spelling, a proud mother, has reacted to charges that she drastically manipulated an Instagram photo of her 14-year-old daughter Stella, which she published in honour of the child’s middle school graduation.
In the post, the former Beverly Hills, 90210 starlet exclaimed about her daughter, detailing her ‘delight’ at how Stella surmounted a number of challenges – from ‘bullying, acute anxiety, and instructors who didn’t think’ she could graduate – to complete middle school.
Tori said on Wednesday that her girl graduated from middle school, noting that the occasion was ‘bittersweet.’
The 49 year old expressed that she is so proud of how hard her daughter worked to graduate in the face of bullying, COVID, difficulties, migraines, extreme anxiety, and terrible instructors and counselors who didn’t believe she could accomplish it all in time to graduate… she proved them all wrong!’
She is very proud of herself, yet she still looks up at that point and sees her small little buggy going about. You have great determination and a generous heart! You have complete freedom to do whatever you want! She loves her girl with all her heart and soul, best friend.
Amidst the touching text, readers slammed the mother-of-five for publishing what looks to be a heavily Photoshopped photograph of Stella standing in her graduation gown.
Tori and her husband Dean McDermott both uploaded images of Stella to commemorate the milestone accomplishment, with Stella’s dad sharing a far more natural-looking set of photos of his daughter, drawing even more focus to Tori’s version.
Tori, however, stated in a Thursday response that she was ‘disgusted’ by the notion that she had digitally manipulated the photograph and that it was simply ‘make up’ and ‘studio lighting.’
Followers had rushed to call attention to the fact that Tori’s photos of her daughter seemed to be manipulated and appeared substantially different from the images provided by Dean, 55.
‘That doesn’t look like Stella,’ one fan said on Tori’s Instagram image.
Comparisons of Tori and Dean’s photographs revealed significant discrepancies.
Stella’s hair was lightened and smoothed in Tori’s shot, her skin looked to be blurred and contoured, and she was spotted wearing extensive eye makeup, complete with artificial eyelashes, neither of which were evident in her dad’s pictures.
FaceTune and FaceTune2 are photo-editing applications utilised by celebrities and influencers all over the world, and FaceTune2 in specifically has a digital makeup setting.
Tori, on the other hand, rejected using an app, wrote on Thursday: ‘Shocked to hear messages and press claiming she placed severe filters on her kid. Her images are not from school in the middle of the day at her real graduation. Right after, she chose to wear more makeup because she is a blossoming cosmetics expert and at school she was required to keep it natural for a professional in studio photograph with in studio lighting they did for her on their culinary programme together #@homewithtori.’
Stella’s hair is fashioned in a natural blowout in Dean’s shot, and she is wearing a very simple, low-key makeup look.
In both Tori and Dean’s images, the graduate is wearing a blue graduation gown and a flowery lei while clutching a bouquet of flowers.
Tori, 49, and Dean, 55, have 5 kids: Liam, 15, Finn, 9, and Beau, 5, as well as Stella, 14, and Hattie, 10. Tori and Dean are taking a break from their 16-year marriage when Stella graduates.
After months of speculation that the stars’ relationship was on the rocks, a source informed that the pair is ‘going through a trial separation.’
Tori and Dean have been married since 2006 and have five children. McDermott also has a son, Jack, 23, with his ex-wife Mary Jo Eustace.
