Taking a step back from royal life entailed detaching himself from all he had known his whole life. Feeling his mom’s existence throughout and relying on the money she left him for assistance helped him when he left the UK and travelled to America with his wife and child.
In an explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey, the Duke of Sussex discussed what his mom, Princess Diana, might have considered about his famous departure from the royal family, saying, he think she’d feel very upset with how this has turned out and very sad, but finally, all she’d ever want is for them to be happy.
When the Sussexes departed the royal family, Prince Harry’s accessibility to cash was cut off, but he was still allowed to access the $10 million USD after taxes that his mother left him and his brother, Prince William.
He has what his mother left him, and they would not have been able to achieve this without it, Orpah was informed by Prince Harry.
He feels Princess Diana may have known something like this was about to occur, and he said, what would his mother think of this? He believes she anticipated it. And he was aware of her presence during the entire procedure.
Those who heard Prince Harry’s words were moved to see how Princess Diana, who is no longer alive, was able to assist her son navigate an extraordinarily difficult choice in his life.
As a kid, Prince Harry witnessed directly how the media relentlessly pursued his mom, finally and quite literally contributing to her death. When he witnessed the same thing occur to his wife, his response was to prevent “history from repeating itself.”
Both Princess Diana and Meghan Markle’s lives were drastically altered when they married into the royal family, and in many respects, Markle’s admissions in her interview with Oprah were reminiscent of Princess Diana’s 1995 BBC interview with Martin Bashir.
In the contentious BBC interview, Princess Diana spoke freely about her mental health, saying that perhaps she was the first member in her family to suffer from sadness or to cry publicly. And naturally, that was intimidating because how could one support it if one has never seen it before?
Diana’s daughter-in-law spoke to Oprah about her mental health and how she had suicidal thoughts during her pregnancy around two and a half decades after she made those words.
Princess Diana also remarked about being continuously assailed by the media in a bombshell interview in 1995, saying, the most difficult component was the media attention. With media exposure came a lot of envy. As a result, several difficulties emerged.
Markle, who has struggled with similar issues, told Oprah, “I would sit up at night and I was just like, ‘I don’t know how all of stuff is being churned out.'” And then I understood it was all occurring as I was breathing.”
‘I am just extremely glad and pleased to be sitting here, talking to you with my wife by my side as I can’t begin to imagine what it must’ve been like for [my mother] going through this experience by herself all those years ago,’ Prince Harry said to Oprah.
