Fans were astonished to see that the price of concert tickets for artists like Adele and Bruce Springsteen had increased to record levels.
Concert tickets for British artist Adele are selling for between $600 and more than $40,000 on StubHub, according to her Monday announcement that she has rescheduled her Las Vegas residency and postponed her tour dates.
Two tickets for the “Easy On Me” singer on Monday night cost $41,280 apiece. The cost of other ticket levels ranged from $20,000 and upwards.
The “Weekends with Adele” tour will take place from November 18, 2022, to March 25, 2023, and tickets will cost more than $1,100 as of this Tuesday. Ticketmaster doesn’t currently have any tickets available.
Likewise, last week when trying to get concert tickets to see the rock musician Bruce Springsteen, fans had yet another sticker shock.
Due to Ticketmaster’s “dynamic pricing scheme,” which adjusts prices in response to demand, seats shot up to $4,000 for certain events.
Fans were shocked by the price of Springsteen’s forthcoming tour, which Ticketmaster released cost data for on Sunday to address complaints over pricing.
To incite indignation, one critic said on Twitter, “Gotta obtain a 2nd mortgage to receive a ticket.”
A second Springsteen supporter tweeted that they were awaiting a quotation on selling their kidney to pay for show tickets: “Waiting for the quotation on buying nosebleed tickets with my kidney on the line.”
Some others kept pointing the finger upon Ticketmaster for their “garbage” rules.
The well-known ticket sales and distribution organization maintained the integrity of its “dynamic pricing model” and claimed that only 1.3% of all tickets for “The Boss” tour were sold for more than $1,000.
Tickets for the 2023 tour with Springsteen and the E Street Band went on sale on July 20.
Tuesday at 10 a.m., tickets go on sale for the “Tougher Than the Rest” singer’s performance at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center on March 16.
