The US government claims it is doing all possible to bring Brittney Griner home but now there’s a Justin from Canada seeking to assist as well – and it’s not Trudeau.
Justin Bieber is reacting to Griner’s 9-year sentence for importing cannabis oil into Russia, saying it “upsets” to learn the news, yet he doesn’t want to just sit and do nothing.
“Please let me know if there is any way (sic) I can help.”
Bieber is just one of several celebrities that are outraged by the sentence. Kyrie Irving has asked President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for further information on Griner’s whereabouts.
“What is the truth about our Queen @brittneygriner @POTUS @VP?” The Brooklyn Nets star took to Twitter. “Please provide an update.”
“Anyone who goes back to Russia to play is insane,” WNBA standout Lexie Brown remarked.
“I’m praying for you, BG…
Seeing her right now is tearing my heart.”
Former NFL player Robert Griffin III’s reply was straightforward: “BRING BRITNEY GRINER HOME!!!”
The NBA and WNBA issued a joint statement… calling Griner’s judgment and sentence “unjustified and sad,” but reiterating that the organizations will go to every length to ensure she returns home.
As previously disclosed, the United States has given Russia a ” great deal” to return her to the United States.
Not sure how Bieber can directly assist… but it’s worth a try.
