6-Year-Old ‘Special Boy’ Lost His Cancer Battle – He Was a Local Star despite His Age

Ben Stelter, a 6-year-old great fan amongst Oiler players, dies of brain cancer. The Edmonton Oiler community has said their final goodbye to Stelter, who turn out to be a favourite between Oiler champions in his fight with glioblastoma (a type of brain cancer).  

Stelter had been detected with glioblastoma in April 2021 and underwent four phases of chemotherapy, several radiation sittings followed by surgical procedure. Ultimately, the cancer returned but the young follower united to cheer on his favourite ice hockey squad.

Stelter’s father, Mike Stelter, declared through a post on Instagram on Wednesday that the world lost the utmost unusual lad and an absolute star past night. Mike further said that Stelter was the best son they we could ever imagined and he was his dad’s finest bud forever.

The ice hockey squad of Canada also grieved Stelter in a series of posts on their Twitter account in retort to the announcement of his demise. The team said that they are mourning the demise of their dear friend, greatest Oilers fan and their good luck charm.  

Stelter regularly seemed together with players throughout post-game press sessions and applauded them on in visits to their closet area.

The Oilers’ Twitter account also retweeted a previous post of a clip that emphasized how the young wonderful fan’s company had welcomed by followers and media alike.

Feelings of sorrow extended beyond the Oilers, however, proof of just in what way the young admirer affected the hockey community over-all. 

The National Hockey League also shared retweets of posts about Stelter and broadcasted the news of his demise on its site. They tweeted that Stelter was a motivation to the whole hockey world and their feelings are with the Stelter household during this tough time.

The Columbus Blue Jackets also commiserated with the Stelter family in a response to the declaration of his passing. They said that they send their earnest sympathies to Stelter and his family as well as the Edmonton Oilers association and followers. They further said that he was an encouragement and his influence will live on continually.
