Sean Connery’s ashes spread at multiple ‘secret Scottish locations’ by widow

Sir Sean Connery’s family returned him to his beloved Scotland for the final time before a poignant celebration of his life on Thursday, what would have been his 92nd birthday.

The wife of the Hollywood great, Micheline Roquebrune, 93, is said to have traveled with relatives to secretly disperse part of his ashes, since it was his ‘last request’ to be repatriated to his hometown.

They are going to bring Sean back to Scotland that was his ultimate request,’ she stated following his death at their residence in the Bahamas in 2020.

He desired his ashes to be dispersed in both the Bahamas and his own country.

He was at his happiest on a golf course, so as soon as it’s feasible to fly, they will return to Scotland as a family and deliver Sean’s ashes, she said earlier this year.

She intends to scatter them on a golf course in Scotland, where he used to play.

Sir Sean’s actor son Jason and granddaughter Saskia are reportedly said to have traveled to Scotland to say their last goodbyes to the 007 star.

Jason, 59, had stated in March that they will most likely disperse his father’s ashes in St Andrews as his father was a member of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club and had played the famed Old Course on a regular basis.

He has recollections of St Andrews always being sunny, the son remarked. It wasn’t, but they had some memorable moments there.

He was a member of the R&A, therefore he believed that may be the spot.

The family’s trip to Scotland finished with a celebration of Sir Sean’s life at the Dalmeny Estate near Edinburgh, the city where he was born and where he was subsequently given the city’s freedom in 1991. In October 2020, he died at the age of 90.

A 50-person entourage dressed in a fashionable tartan motif is claimed to have appeared at Edinburgh Waverley station on Thursday to the sound of a trombone playing the King of the Swingers.

‘I couldn’t believe it when I saw Micheline and her group walk off the train,’ a source stated.

‘A trombonist started playing the popular Jungle Book tune. Micheline went carefully to her waiting automobile, arm in arm with a relative.

She was short and petite, but she looked very, very gorgeous, and she was dressed as if she were going to a wedding. Everyone was dressed in tartan.

It’s understood Sir Sean’s ashes were spread at various locations in his life that were significant to him.  It had all been leading up to their final destination of Edinburgh and Dalmeny, which was yesterday.

It was fantastic to see the old-fashioned train, and it felt like a movie scenario.

It was all very private since it was all about Sir Sean’s ultimate resting place.

The gathering was carried away from the station in a fleet of people carriers, and a birthday feast in Sir Sean’s memory was afterwards held at the Tudor Gothic palace at Dalmeny.

His granddaughter Saskia posted a heartwarming snapshot of herself as a youngster with Sir Sean, captioned ‘Happiest birthday, my superstar.’

Sir Sean was born on August 25, 1930, in Edinburgh, and reared in Fountainbridge. He worked as a milkman before entering the Royal Navy.

He made his acting debut in 1957 and went on to become the first James Bond, appearing in five films as the legendary secret agent between 1962 and 1967.

In 1973, he divorced his son Jason’s mother, Diane Cilento, and in 1975, he married Micheline, a French-Moroccan artist.

Despite having lived overseas for many years, he accepted a knighthood from the Queen in 2000 and was a long-time supporter of Scottish independence and the SNP.

Sir Sean stated in an interview in 2008, Scotland is his home, and emotionally he has never left.
