Viewers on Netflix have suggested that Netflix include a “trigger” notice to the upcoming movie “Luckiest Girl Alive,” starring Mila Kunis.
Based on Jessica Knoll’s 2015 novel, the film contains dark images of sexual assault, surviving a gang rape, and a brutal high school massacre.
“Luckiest Girl Alive” centres on Kunis’ role as a New York City magazine writer whose “beautifully groomed” existence starts to crumble when a true-crime documentary pushes her to face her “heart wrenching” high school experience, prompting her to reconsider the decisions she made as a teenager.
While Netflix briefly mentions “sexual violence” and “threat” at the opening of the video, critics point out that the warning isn’t obvious to viewers.

This isn’t the first time Netflix has faced criticism for failing to include a proper trigger warning in a show featuring unsettling images.

Following the second season’s closing episode, which included a brutal sexual assault scenario that some fans believed over the line, there were demands for the streaming service to discontinue the controversial series “13 Reasons Why” in May 2018.
Although the episode did carry a caution informing viewers that the show will include unsettling scenes, some fans thought the series went too far and urged for “13 Reasons Why” to be cancelled.
Since its premiere on Netflix on October 7, “Luckiest Girl Alive” has received a 41% rating from reviewers and a 77% rating from regular viewers.
Connie Britton, Luke Harrison, and Chiara Aurelia all appear in the new film from the streaming service.
