Jack Woodley grew up with two younger brothers, Jayden and Jenson, in Newton Aycliffe, Durham, England. He resided in Gateshead’s Felling district after leaving the family home.
However, he notified his mom in early October 2021 that he had to leave his residence due to a robbery and an assault. Woodley apparently obtained a job offer from Amazon in Gateshead and desired to reside with his partner in a property.
Woodley, though, was informed by social services that he would have to wait until a place became available, according to his mother, Zoey McGill.
During the waiting period, the boy was scheduled to move into a YMCA hostel in Sunderland when tragedy struck. On the night of October 15, 2021, Woodley, then 18, was staying with his family at their Whitley Bay vacation house.
McGill claimed her son told her the next day that he was going to the hostel after spending the evening with his girlfriend at the Houghton Feast Fair. She revealed that Woodley visited a funfair and emailed her footage of himself enjoying the attractions.
But on the night of Saturday, October 16, the County Durham mother’s life came crumbling down when she learned that her darling son had been gravely injured. She stated that his girlfriend contacted to notify her of the devastating news.
McGill and her husband, Chris, then traveled to the hospital where their kid had been admitted. The distraught mom remembered being ordered to wait in another room while Woodley battled for his life.
McGill was shocked when she finally met her kid.
The mother of three said her kid enjoyed the fairgrounds, the bright lights, and the atmosphere. However, witnessing him on the verge of death was a devastating vision that broke McGill’s heart and soul into many pieces.
The most important question was why Woodley had been assaulted. The heartbreaking occurrence transpired after the Houghton fair, when the then-18-year-old guy drove his girlfriend to the bus stop.
During a disagreement, he was allegedly assaulted by a band of youngsters. The child was discovered with a knife wound near the Britannia Inn on Newbottle Street in Houghton-le-Spring and was brought to the hospital.
Regardless of their best efforts, the medics were unable to rescue the young guy. Unfortunately, Woodley died of his injuries on October 17, leaving his loved ones in ruins.
As her darling kid drew his last breaths, a saddened McGill captured a heartbreaking photograph that captured her sadness and affection for her son.
Woodley’s death devastated his family and friends, particularly his mom, who was plagued with soul-crushing anguish and trauma. McGill stated in a Facebook post on October 23, 2021: She wishes there was a simpler option out to be with her son Jack… She will live her entire life with this agony, her strength is fading gradually without her children, he was the reason she decided to live life to the fullest.
I wish there was an easier way out to be with you Jack .. I will live my entire life with this pain I don’t want to…

Every morning when she wakes up, she screams all over again…. Her heart eternally feels like it is bleeding, souls will never rest realizing what they did to him, McGill said in another Facebook post on October 26.
Every morning I wake up I scream all over again …. My heart forever feels like it is bleeding , souls will never rest…

All gang members, thought to be aged 14 to 17, were found guilty of murder during the trial at Newcastle Crown Court in 2022. When lawyer Mark McKone QC interrogated the kids about why they assaulted Woodley, he uncovered some disturbing truths.
The 16-year-old accused attacker said there was definitely a cause, however he couldn’t remember why he assaulted Woodley. According to McKone, when asked for details, the majority of the other adolescents participating in the event claimed the same thing.
Woodley, it turned out, went to the Houghton Feast to spend time with friends. But he happened to catch the focus of the young group.
After a weeks-long trial, prosecutors demonstrated that the young guy got into problems after he was provoked to a fight by a stranger.

Despite the fact that he walked away, the prosecution claims that the group afterwards selected him just because they intended to bring damage to someone. Northumbria Police allegedly charged the teens with murder and sentenced them to 124 years in prison.
In October 2022, about a year after her son’s sad death, a bereaved McGill shared a heartbreaking video in which she was seen singing a beautiful song to Woodley in his dying moments.
The mother was seen singing along to the emotional lyrics of Dani and Lizzy’s “Dancing in the Sky.”
Woodley’s anguished mother published the video to commemorate her son’s first death anniversary and to increase awareness of the devastation caused by knife crime. McGill recalled her final hours with her darling son as follows- she couldn’t weep, clutching her kid, watching him go, the color fading from him as he lay dying.

McGill said she visits Woodley’s grave in Newton Aycliffe’s West Cemetery every night, unable to let go of the memorable moments and bond she experienced with her dear baby.
In February 2022, Woodley’s younger brother, Jayden, launched a crowdfunding campaign to purchase a personalized memorial stone for his late brother. On the GoFundMe page, he wrote-since losing Jack, circumstances have been really difficult for him and his family, and he wished to do something to assist his family in paying for a memorial stone devoted to Jack and his love of Tyson Fury.
