René Angélil and Celine Dion had a wonderful marriage that lasted for decades until the 54-year-old ‘My Heart Will Go On’ singer died of throat cancer. She is still in love with him, Dion said in Las Vegas, where she was celebrating her 1000th performance. Before he went, it was very, very terrible for all of them, revealed the Canadian singer, who has three boys with her late husband Angelil.
For her and her kids, it’s heartbreaking to see the guy she loves die a little more each day. And when he went, it was like a comfort to see the man she loved, the only man she kissed, the only man she loved.
Celine Dion has stated that she has never kissed another guy or remarried because she has found peace in the aftermath of her husband’s death.
When questioned if she planned to fall in love with someone new, Celine said, Not just now. She adores him. She is still madly in love with him. And she has her children’s affection. Her followers adore her. She enjoys working with the folks she does. So her existence isn’t devoid of love.
There is however a Sia song that says, ‘I go to sleep and imagine that you are there with me.’ And I go to bed with him. And I go to the stage with him. And so, I am still married to him,” she explained. Celine recalled meeting her husband Rene for the first time when she was 12 years old. They began as a business connection, with Rene serving as Celine’s manager, and it gradually evolved into a loving relationship, with the couple marrying in 1994.
Celine and Rene had been married for nearly 20 years until Rene died on January 14, 2016. Rene was a well-known former singer turned manager who had invited Celine, aged 12, to an audition in Quebec. In 1981, he also mortgaged his own home to fund her debut studio record. Celine was lost, devastated, and lifeless following her husband’s death, but actor Ryan Reynolds came out to her with a touching letter that transformed her life for the better and gave her the strength to keep going on.
