Veteran actor John Aniston, who first appeared on Days of Our Lives as Victor Kiriakis in 1985, has died. His daughter, actress Jennifer Aniston, confirmed his death.
Jennifer posted a sequence of images of herself with her dad on Instagram, announcing his death on November 11, 2022.
“Sweet papa… John Anthony Aniston. You were one of the most beautiful humans I ever knew. I am so grateful that you went soaring into the heavens in peace – and without pain. And on 11/11 no less! You always had perfect timing. That number will forever hold an even greater meaning for me now. I’ll love you till the end of time. Don’t forget to visit.” she wrote.
In June 2022, John received a Daytime Emmys Lifetime Achievement Award for his work on Days. His daughter accepted the medal on his behalf without explaining why her dad was unable to attend.
John was born on the Greek island of Crete in 1934. In addition to the soap opera that made him popular, he had parts on Gilmore Girls, Mad Men, and The West Wing. He was unfailingly encouraging of his daughter’s work, stating that she was a “natural gift.”
