Jennifer Hudson is an EGOT winner, but her son, David Daniel Otunga Jr., has recently earned his own cause to rejoice.
On Saturday, the 41-year-old TV anchor posted many images of her 13-year-old son during his middle school graduation ceremony and praised him in a few poignant Instagram messages.
“It is official!” “My baby is now in high school,” Hudson wrote. “We had such a wonderful day celebrating with family and friends. I am so proud of you, DOJ ! Team Jhud can yal help give DOJ a huge congratulations ! 🎓”
Some of Hudson’s acquaintances, including Viola Davis, Tamar Braxton, and Jacob Latimore, praised Otunga in the comments area.
Hudson can be seen adjusting her not-so-little one’s hat and gown in photographs from her initial post, seeming keen to set him up for success. “My baby Graduated, Yal!!!!!! DOJ!!!!!!! #classof2023#proudmom,” she wrote below the photo.
Hudson’s second post included many nice moments from the graduation ceremonies, including one of Otunga cheesing for the camera, as well as a couple photographs with Hudson. Throughout the ceremony, she donned a magnificent rainbow gown with a plethora of jewels and held up sweet banners with his face on them.
Hudson additionally attempted on the blue graduation gown, and Otunga was photographed with a few other family members who were there to support him.
A video included in Hudson’s post also showed a jet with a sky banner that said, “Congratulations DOJ! “And the class of 2023!”
Hudson has a son with her ex-fiancé, former WWE star David Otunga, whom she divorced in November 2017 after ten years together.
Outside of recordings of her kid’s remarkable dancing talents, the American Idol alum hasn’t posted much about her son on social media throughout the years, but she made sure to get into proud parent gear in time for his big day this weekend.
Last August, Hudson shared a few photos from Otunga’s 13th birthday party, when attendees donned shirts with his initials written on them.
“Can the entire team Jhud and the world stop what U r doing and wish my son a very happy 13th birthday today !!!!!!” Hudson captioned the picture carousel.
“I officially have a teenager !!!! Wow !!!!!!” she continued. “Turn up my baby !!!! I will forever celebrate u !!!!”
