Six Cops Accompanied The Little Girl For Father-Daughter Dance.

Tim Warren was a police officer with the Memphis Police Department, but some years ago, he was killed in the line of duty.

Sadly, he left behind a young daughter named Jewel. When Jewel was 8 years old, her school scheduled a father-daughter dance. But, of course, Jewel had no father, and did not see herself attending the event. When members of Tim’s police department found out about the dance, an officer volunteered to take her to it. Then, another officer volunteered to take her. And then, another. In all, six police officers who once worked with Jewel’s father asked to take the youngster to her dance.

Said Memphis Police Officer Amensaid: “We know we cannot replace Tim, but we can be there for his family when we are needed. It was truly an honor.”

Officers were not the only ones supporting the family. A photographer offered her services for free at the dance, and a business donated flowers. A regional police organization paid for Jewel’s dress and transportation. Jewel had a wonderful time, thanks to all of her considerate dates.

Says Amanda Swain, the photographer at the event: “They most definitely made sure that night will never be forgotten. I know I won’t forget it, and I’m positive Officer Warren smiled several times as he looked on from above.”
