Teacher With Daughter In Hospital Who Couldn’t Afford A Holiday Gets UNBELIEVABLE Support.

When it comes to helping others, sacrifices are often made. But in most all cases, it’s worth it and helping a family be with their child when that child is sick is a huge act of kindness.

It’s an awful tough thing when you’re child is diagnosed with a horrible sickness. It’s another horrible thing when you jeopardize your job because you need to be away and with your child for special treatments.

Little Kinsley Green was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia when she was just 11 months old. That was terrible news, of course, for her parents, David and Megan Green.

David is employed as a social studies teacher in the Alabama Public School system, and he needed to be by his daughter’s side for almost 6 weeks when she underwent chemotherapy treatments. And those treatments were about a hundred miles away in Birmingham.

But David was only allotted a minimum amount of sick days he could use for such an extended absence. After David wrote about his dilemma on Facebook, plenty of educators in the school system came forward and offered him THEIR sick days, so he could comfortably take the time off and be with little Kinsley.

More than 100 sick days were pooled for David. Lakewood Assistant Principal Wilma DeYampert was one of many to give up some of her sick days to David.

Says Wilma: “My momma always told us, you don’t have to be rich to bless someone. So, I felt like that was a blessing to him. If I had more to give I would give him more.”

It truly was an amazing thing for so many others to give up their time so David could be with his daughter, and the family could not have been more grateful.
